Hey everyone,

A lot has happened in the world of Einarth—and in real life in the last couple of weeks. Thanks for sticking around while I’ve been deep in the trenches.

First and foremost, I’ve been hard at work on the new, darker version of Codex Arcanum, (Book 1 of the Shadows to Shores series). I’ve now edited 17 chapters, tightening the story, deepening the shadows, and leaning into the grittier tone I’ve been aiming for. It’s been intense but incredibly rewarding to see the world and characters evolve.

The first two chapters of this revised version are now available exclusively on Ream for the Wardens of Einarth tier. If you’re already supporting at that level, go dive in—I’d love to hear what you think of the changes. For everyone else, the first chapter will drop for free followers today!

If you’re curious about my writing style but aren’t ready to commit to a full series yet, I’ve got something perfect for you. My cozy fantasy short story, The Great Bard Festival, is available completely free to everyone right now on Ream. You can also grab it by signing up for my newsletter—no strings attached. It’s a fun, music-as-magic tale set in the same world, and it’s a great low-commitment way to sample the world of Einarth.

On the series front, Book 2: Edge of Destruction is currently with my beta readers. I’m really looking forward to their feedback so I can make it as strong as possible.

I’ve also been quietly working on a brand-new project. I’m still in the early stages, but I’m excited about where it’s headed and hope to share more soon. Stay tuned!

Of course, life isn’t all writing and editing. My best friend recently lost his mother, and I’ve been doing everything I can to be there for him during this tough time. Grief is heavy, and supporting the people we care about matters more than any deadline.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Whether you’re a free follower, a Warden, or just stopping by the blog, your support means the world. Drop a comment below and let me know what you’ve been reading lately, or if you’ve already checked out the new chapters!

Until next time—keep the lanterns lit,

Cole Tyler
